Andrew was born in Newark, New Jersey. he got his A.B. degree from Princeton University and his J.D. degree from Notre Dame Law School. In 1975, he was admitted to the New Jersey bar. He entered into his private practice as a legislator after passing his law school. Andrew became the state’s youngest then-sitting Superior Court judge when he sat on the New Jersey bench from 1987 to 1995. In order to return to his private practice, he resigned from his judgeship. He was also an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law for 11 years from 1989 to 2000 and served as a visiting professor at Brooklyn law school for 4 years.

From 2006 to 2010, he co-hosted a talk radio show and a daily libertarian talk show called Freedom Watch airing on Fox Business Channel every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. He replaced the television host Glenn Beck, whom he regularly substituted whenever Beck was absent from his program. . On August 2, 2021, Napolitano was fired from Fox News after Fox Business News production assistant John Fawcett filed a lawsuit alleging that Napolitano has sexually harassed him in an elevator in 2019. But all such allegations were dined by Napolitano.
