Former Panthers outside linebacker Haason Reddick is headed to the Eagles on a three-year deal worth $45 million with $30 million in guaranteed money, a source confirmed to The Athletic. The terms of the deal were first reported by the NFL Network.
"I’M COMING HOME!!!! #FlyEaglesFly," the Philadelphia-area native (Camden, N.J.) said on social media following multiple reports he had agreed to terms with the Eagles.
Reddick, 27, has logged 47 starts and 80 appearances in five NFL seasons, four with the Cardinals. He’s forced 11 fumbles, deflected 15 passes and picked up 31 career sacks, including 11 last season. He had 68 tackles and a career-high 18 QB hits last year. He posted a career-high 12 1/2 sacks in 2020 with Arizona.
Reddick walked on to the football team at Temple before rising to First Team All-AAC status in 2016. The Cardinals drafted him No. 13 in the 2017 NFL Draft. Last March, the Panthers signed him to a one-year contract worth up to $8 million, reuniting him with Matt Rhule, one of his coaches at Temple.

NFL free agency signing grades
How has Reddick stacked up as a pass rusher the past two seasons?
Larry Holder, NFL writer: Reddick has produced back-to-back seasons with double-digit sacks. He picked up 11 sacks for the Panthers in 2021, his one season in Carolina. Signing a one-year deal with the Panthers last offseason seems like it was a risk that paid off.
But his pressure percentage wasn’t as high as you might expect for a top-flight pass rusher with only a 10.3 percent rate, via TruMedia, ranking him 58th among 176 qualified pass rushers (minimum 200 pass-rush snaps). Reddick broke out in 2020 as a pass rusher. His 13.0 percent pressure rate ranked 17th in the league among 172 qualified pass rushers. Reddick’s 12 1/2 sacks ranked tied for fourth in the NFL, tied with the recently released Za’Darius Smith.

How Reddick fits with the Eagles
Bo Wulf, Eagles beat writer: With Derek Barnett headed to free agency and Brandon Graham returning at age 34 off a torn Achilles, the Eagles had a glaring hole for pass-rush help on the outside. Even if they’re likely to add someone to that group that already includes Josh Sweat — perhaps with one of their first-round picks — this is an organizational priority. The Eagles finished 31st in the league in sack rate in 2021.
As for Reddick, the fit is clear. The 13th overall pick of the Cardinals in 2017, Reddick spent his first few seasons in Arizona without a position. Finally freed to rush the passer full time in 2020, he broke out with 12 1/2 sacks. After signing a one-year deal with the Panthers in 2021, he followed that up with 11 more sacks.
Only T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett, Aaron Donald and Trey Hendrickson have more sacks over the past two seasons. The Eagles have not had an edge rusher with a double-digit sack season since Connor Barwin’s 14 1/2 in 2014. Notably, Reddick has only missed one game in five seasons.
What he brings to the team
Ted Nguyen, national NFL writer: Reddick is undersized, but defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon values the ability to get upfield, assuming he runs the same 4-3 single gap system that he did with the Colts. Reddick gives the Eagles pass rush ability and adds to their overall team speed that they’ll be looking to improve.
