According to a report from Spin.com, singer/songwriter, Halsey, will be a musical guest on Saturday Night Live in February. During last night’s episode of the series featuring Meek Mill, it was revealed that the singer would be on NBC’s long-running comedy-sketch program.
Her performance next month marks her second in total following her appearence on the show last January. On Twitter last night, she wrote, “hosting and performing on NBC’s SNL,” in all-capital letters.
There’s no question SNL has had some very famous guests, including Lady Gaga, Drake, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Donald Glover, Kanye West, and Justin Bieber. Recently, the show has been in the media a lot after Ariana Grande dropped out and Kanye West took her place, a performance which caused significant controversy due to the rapper’s support of the president.
Moreover, Pete Davidson and Grande’s breakup was featured front-line and center in reports involving NBC’s legendary program. Putting gossip aside, SNL has been a massive platform for artists, musicians, and comedians since its beginning in 1975.
In 2017, Halsey’s latest album, hopeless fountain kingdom, was released. In October, the singer released a music video for her track, “Without Me,” which featured a man that looked a lot like her ex-boyfriend, G-Eazy, whom she broke it off with recently.

As fans of Halsey know, she and G-Eazy had an on-and-off relationship over the span of two years. It got heated when she allegedly slept with rival rapper, Machine Gun Kelly, who later went on to feud with hip-hop legend, Eminem.
Halsey has also stepped toward the film industry in recent years as well. She made an appearence in Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s hugely successful film, A Star Is Born, which is also up for an Academy Award for Best Picture.

In addition to her career taking off in a big way, Halsey is also known for her political activism, including for sexual assault survivors and the LGBTQ community. In some cases, the singer has even managed to create a few enemies through her passionate support of political causes.
