OneRepublic have released a new track called ‘Better Days’, taken from their forthcoming album Human.

Written and produced by Ryan Tedder, Brent Kutzle and John Nathaniel and co-produced by Tyler Spry, ‘Better Days’ is a hopeful anthem which proves to be incredibly relatable during the current uncertain climate.

“Oh, I know that there’ll be better days / Oh, that sunshine ’bout to come my way / May we never ever shed another tear for today / ‘Cause oh, I know that there’ll be better days,” Ryan sings during the uplifting chorus, reminding us that despite the current global situation, better days are coming,.

Speaking about the track, Ryan said: “We were in the final week of our fifth album deadline when a global pandemic was declared by the WHO. A few of us unknowingly got exposed to somebody with COVID-19 in London and ended up in quarantine in L.A. at my studio for two weeks.

“With only two songs left to finish, one of them happened to be ‘Better Days’. We write about real experiences and events that happen to us – this is what happens when you write a song during a crisis.”

As well as donating a portion of the profits of ‘Better Days’, OneRepublic have taken part in numerous at home concerts to raise awareness and funds for COVID-19 related causes. They’ve also released a Socially Distant Tour t-shirt, with all proceeds going through their charity The Good Life Foundation to be distributed to Covid-19 Relief charities.

OneRepublic have also enlisted the help of their fans to create a music video for the single. The band asked their fans to share their acts of kindness through the Cinebody app, with the music video being released in due course.

‘Better Days’ is taken from OneRepublic’s forthcoming fifth album Human, which is currently due for release on May 8. The album includes the previously released ‘Didn’t I’, ‘Somebody To Love’, ‘Wanted’, and ‘Rescue Me’.
