Gayle King is one of the most respected journalists in morning news. Recently, she came under the most scrutiny that she’s ever faced in her carer.
While interviewing Leslie Jones about her relationship with Kobe Bryant after his tragic death, King brought up the accusation that blundered his career when a woman at a Colorado hotel accused him of raping her.
The woman ended up refusing to testify and they settled out of court. He also issued a public apology.
In addition to bringing the case up so soon after his untimely demise, Gayle pressed Leslie who responded that that wasn’t the guy that she knew Kobe to be.

One of the first celebrities to call her out was Snoop Dogg whose video slamming Gayle went viral.
King responded to the public outcry by explaining that the case wasn’t the only thing that she and Leslie talked about and blamed CBS for posting the controversial clip with no subtext.
She understood the angry reaction that she was receiving and issued an apology.
Oprah offered an update on how her friend was doing after the incident and revealed that she was in a bad place.
Her BFF joined Oprah at the last stop in her Vision Tour where she opened up even more.
‘I have moved on. Is there a scab? Yeah. But I have moved on. I put on my game face and my big girl pants, because I never lost sight of who I was, what I believe I am, and my intention. I’ve never lost sight of that. But it certainly was a learning curve, and it was very painful,’ said Gayle.
She continued to say: ‘I think we can disagree politically, we can disagree socially, if you want to, but I just think humanity should prevail always. I think we still have to figure out a way to navigate that with each other. That we can disagree, and you can be mad at me even, but you can’t speak to me the way I was spoken to and threatened.’
